Just to Break the Monotony
And to get Christmas back into last year, I will say something. I'm not sure, but somehow we have been pretty busy. We have had less company, but I seem to always figure out how to keep myself busy. I am enjoying a little Bible study 1x a week where I lead in the worship. We are a very small, eclectic group, but I think a very interesting cross section of the community.
I've rearranged the office and cleaned out the office closet. That was fun. Found some long lost pliers that I use for making jewelry. Odd place for them, but there they were. I still have some file drawers to go through, but it feels good to have that much done. I made a major project of cleaning out the ice maker. One hose was impossible to clean and/or remove. I finally removed it and cleaned it - then as I suspected, getting it back in place was ridiculously difficult. We had to take the top off the thing. I will find a very long, pliable brush for the next episode.
Maybe this is an early Spring Cleaning thing. The weather has been very nice. We have had a little rain and it has been just right. My plants are all very happy right now. Larry finished the garden enclosure around the shower. It looks really good. We have some plants in there and they love it. He worked really hard on that project. It took him longer than 10 months (my standard). Next we are going to tackle the raised planters and steps out back. We have also ordered some pine trees to put in the clearing between us and our neighbors. Not that we crave privacy at this point, but we do need to fill in some areas. We will be working on landscape projects from now on I think.
Our Scottsdale friends are back there working on a project of their own. They have bought a house to flip. They will be doing the work themselves, so it will be a lot of work, but I expect they will do a great job & hopefully have a very successful flip. We miss them, tho. They will be back and forth, but out there more than here this year.
Our Sadee Grace is officially 2. We had a very fun birthday party at a great place called Kids Zone. It was perfect - a padded room full of stuff for kids from 1 to 10 to play on. They were all having a total blast for 2 hours. I video'd until my arms wanted to fall off. Then some of us went over to her house and partied a little more. It was a great day. I hope she remembers it. I know it will be good memories.
Andra is loving her job I think & she is well suited for it. She is learning a lot and will be going to some schools to learn more. I think it is a great bunch she works for and with. I have dropped by there a couple of times and they all seem very friendly. It is an absolutely beautiful building too. I am actually going with her next month on a trip to Austin. We are going to tour some historical areas. That will really be fun.
Marissa, Andra, Sadee & I all went back to Midland for a wedding weekend before last. It was great fun and I loved seeing so many friends I haven't seen since we left. The wedding was beautiful too. I am very happy for them & hope we see them often.
Lar & I went to Rick & Patti's last Friday to visit with them and another couple who were our pastors in Pecos a long time ago. We had a blast. We are hoping to have a gathering here soon with more of our Pecos friends who are in the general area. There really are many who live nearby. Just gotta get it planned.
So that's what's happening here. Now some of you other family/friend bloggers get with it. I'm getting bored.
