My Quarterly Post
Ok, This has now taken me all afternoon to post all these pictures, so I hope ya'll appreciate my efforts. I don't know why I can't find any from Thanksgiving. We had one, right? Ha. Starting back in early November, Marissa brought some of her friends from work and also some of their family too. Amanda, Beth, Robyn, Robyn's mom Mary Lou, then later joined by Beth's folks Kay, Paul and sister Mary. We had a really good time. The girls cooked, since I told them it would be risky for me to feed that many people. Our ER is pretty small. It was a fun weekend for sure. Maybe they will all come back.
We did have Thanksgiving here. We had about 20 again this year, but I don't know where any pictures are. Didn't we take any? Maybe they are on someone else's camera. Adam's folks came again and we got to meet his Grandma Softie. Not sure how they spell that nickname. That was a treat. No one was hungry for a while. We got to celebrate Marissa and Adam's news, which ya'll all know by now. Sadee is going to have a cousin. We still don't know which kind yet, but should know that next month. We are all excited.
Next we had a little birthday bash for Moe and really surprised her by giving her a nice digital camera she had been saving up for. We all went in on it and she was totally blown away I think. I got that moment on video. Don't yet know how to capture a single moment on my video and make it a picture, so you'll just have to wait till the novie comes out. She started snapping away and did all kinds of cool stuff with it. But did we remember to take a group picture? NO. Not even at Christmas. Listen up Moe - remember to do it this coming weekend since we are not thru with all the festivities yet. More on that later.
Then on to Christmas. Sadee is old enough to actually really get into it this time. She sure had fun with all her loot...which was a lot! But hey, you only get the first grandchild once. I really am going to have to get a job. We had a PERSONAL visit from Santa Steve. That is all on video too. It was quite a show & I know Sadee will get a kick out of it someday when she sees it again. We followed that by opening stuff here between us and the kids and eating mexican food and playing poker - a good Christmas tradition. The next morning Lar & I were at Andra & Zach's house at about 6:30 so we could be there when she got up to see what the jolly red elf brought her there. That was fun too. Then they went on to Hico for yet another round. Wait until we have 4 or 5 more kids to do this stuff. I'm looking forward to that. Need to get started on the Geratol now. If you don't know what that is, you don't need it.
We went to Brownwood Sunday a.m. New Year's eve to surprise Stan & Cathy who are pastoring a church there. Rick & Patti & Ryan cooked that up. It was a blast and what a neat church they have there. They have been there about a year and it has just blossomed and the school has tripled in size. They are so in their element and it is great to see them florish like that. We will go back as often as we can. They have a great little bookstore and gift shop inside and have the funniest cards. I'm gonna get a bunch next time I'm there.
We had an extremely quiet New Year. That was weird. The first time in many years we haven't had a get together or gone to one. Larry worked on his rock wall a little and we just veggied out for 2 days. Larry had taken the entire week between Christmas and New Year's off. So we rested up a little and puttered around the house a little.
Now we have one more gig coming up this weekend with Grandpa Dee and Betty and the rest of the Fleming clan, so I haven't taken down my Christmas stuff yet. Hmm, if I just turned off the lights and dusted it once in a while...ok, it was an idea.
So enjoy the pictures. I finally figured out how to put them in the right order on here. THAT WAS HARD!!!!
