Sometimes You Just Have to Wait
I know, I know. I miss everybody posting something interesting to read more often and I've become one of the slow ones too. Life has a way of taking priority.
This has been a VERY HOT and dry Summer, but it's finally over. We broke records for triple digit heat so many days in a row. August was almost completely over 100. I guess I'd have made a poor pioneer woman. I stayed inside as much as I could except for early morning. Next year will be better, God willing. Even with all that, I still love it here. The other 10 months are just fine.
We have had lots of fun company and so far it has been great. The house functions well with everyone having plenty of room to spread out and do their thing - make noise or sleep, whatever they want. I turn my kitchen over to better chefs and enjoy whatever they come up with.
We had a small "girls" time this past weekend with Marissa and some of her friends, with Andra, Sadee & Zach join in later. We told lots of stories, laughed a lot, shopped a little around town and just generally had a fun, relaxing time. We will probably have a bigger "girls" weekend later. Misti & pregnancy are having a battle, so that kept her away, work and other things kept some others away. They will all have a go at it again I hope. I am also hoping my Andrews girls will come one of these days....girls?
Sadee is so active and trying new things every second. She is such a good baby - her little spurts of mad are very short and easily contained. She minds very well, I think, and is so much fun to have around even if I'm tired afterwards. What did we ever do before her? I think I'll put a pic up since Andra hasn't posted that particular pic yet. Andra was trying to get her to make a "funny face" for us. I see teenager coming out already.
I have made 2 more trips to Austin since the last post. One to take M & A a table I refinished for their living room, and one with neighbor Cindy & friend Denise to go to a ladies conference kind of thing. That was good too.
Ok, I'm trying to post a pic at the same time I'm doing this and it is doing strange things, so I'm going to publish this post and come back.

And probably one of the latest developments is I was asked to join a little country band. It's my old friend (old?) Rick. We have practiced once & will be doing a benefit at their hospital later this month. It is kind of a stretch for me, but I do enjoy it. I hope I'm up for the challenge. I've been singing a little at a small women's group (ok, no comments...not small women, just a small group of women)who have been having a Bible study for many years. It is made up of women from mean different backgrounds. It has been good to meet some more people. Other avenues are opening up all the time, so who knows.
So I think that's all for this time. Oh yeah - wall not finished yet. We have had lots of rain so now it's too wet. Excuses, excuses.... But he says soon, whatever that means. I hope I can put up a picture of a finished wall soon and I'll keep trying with the Sadee pic.
