Wow - Long Time No Talk!!

Which is SO out of character for me, huh. Busy is the excuse...busier than usual. But I think I am starting to wind down a little. Of course I SHOULD be decorating right now, but needed to sit for a while, so here we go.

Thanksgiving was a blast. We fed 19 1/2. Sadee didn't eat much. Really enjoyed the family and friends who came and it was a sweet time. I was helped out so much by those who came, in particular Julie. Of course, she is well known for her cooking prowess, so that came in handy. Someday some of that will rub off on me I hope. My only major cooking contribution, my famous chocolate pies, kind of flopped. Still tasted good, just had to eat it with a spoon. Oh well..

A & Z's house is looking great and they spent their first night there Wednesday before Thanksgiving, but it still needs a bunch of little things. Maybe another day on the last of the trim, a few days on touch up painting and some other details. I'll let Andra talk about all that, but it is truly turning into a beautiful spot. I'm looking forward to their first offical get together (no more than them I'm sure). Can't wait for the previous owners to see the before and after because it would definately shock anyone...in a good way.

I would talk on and on here about Sadee, but I don't want to steal Andra's thunder on that either. She is moving so fast it is blinding and so much fun to watch. We are missing seeing her every day, but so happy to know we can run over there and see her in 16 minutes if we need to. I'm getting her this morning too, while her mommy sees the dentist.

Haven't finished my infamous mosiac table. I'm calling in help on that next week, so maybe we will make some major progress. I really wanted it done by the holidays - 2005!

Decorating for Christmas has always been my favorite thing to do every year. Back in Andrews I would take pictures of each room so I could remember what I did, and pack all the stuff from each room in big plastic boxes with labels. That worked pretty much, except we would ALWAYS change something in the house so it would slightly change what I had to do, but all in all, it was as organized a project as I am capable of...but starting with an entire new house is challenging to say the least. I sold a couple of my big trees before we left Andrews, and bought a couple last year at a big discount after Christmas. I couldn't even remember what I had bought until I opened the boxes. I do like them, so that's good. Miscalculated on one of them and Lar had to chop 12" off the bottom. It looks fine tho. I think the store lied about how tall it was. I knew how tall my ceilngs were when I bought it. Oh well, it will be fine. I am hoping to be finished with all this over the weekend..or by Monday at least. I haven't really had any whole, uninterrupted days to work on it, so maybe by then...and then we are going to entertain some more. Maybe a little more laid back on the food, but we are hoping to have a few gatherings during this wonderful time of the year. Tentatively have more family coming and will have at least one get together for local friends and hoping for one with out of town soon to be in town friends. Who knows what else will develop.

When I finish something, I will put a picture up. Otherwise, you will just have to come see it. I guess I am a LITTLE over the top, but hey, somebody has to be, right?

Lar is still liking his "dam" job. He works with some really great people, so that helps a lot. It has been moving along at a good pace - no rain delays...as in NO RAIN. We sure need some. It's starting to remind me of my roots in West Texas.

Ok, there you have it. Now the rest of you need to catch up.
