No wonder my cats are always hungry. They need to learn to eat big rats...or possums as you call them. Posted by Hello

Stained front porch. Would have been nice if I had remembered to take the picture in the day time. Posted by Hello

Something new to read and yack about

Ok, I'm writing for all of you eager readers. Things have been pretty busy for us here on the hacienda. I've been back to West Texas/New Mexico 3 times now in the last 2 months. I don't have another trip planned any time soon, so I can focus back on finishing some of the little things around here. We've also had company pretty steady, and that's good. That's why I built a guest wing. We've had fun with one and all.

I'm still waiting for my Andrews girls to come. We need to have a girls weekend here. I've seen them every trip back, but it's time for them to come on over. Take a hint. Sheretta came as a scout. She wants to come back and sit on our glorious back porch, etc.

Larry has been having a ball with a little skip loader he has had access to. He has been on it every day for about a week. He has done a lot of clearing with it too. He says it is real easy. Hmm, maybe I'll fire it up and do something....or not. But it has been real nice cause there are so many big rocks to move around in order to clear out things, there was no other way. We need to burn some brush. We need to put in sprinklers so we can put in a yard...we need to do a lot outside. But it will get there.

Lar also got the other job with the Water District which he had been wanting since we moved here. He will be working with the engineer and overseeing the constuction of the dam and whatever else they are building. He has to be trained to do some nuclear testing thing. Sounds intimidating to me, but he is pretty excited. He will start around July 1st or so. He wants to have a little break between jobs so he can get some more rock work done, like building the wall around his shower. No more peeking! Can't wait. We need a retaining wall out back too.

He got the front walk done. Maybe I'll post a picture. He did a great job. I stained the front porch and it turned out pretty fine too. I'm going to do the back porch too....or the veranda. I forgot what the other fancy name for that...oh wait, it's loggia. I need to pick one and stick with it. I watched a thing on HGTV about outdoor kitchens tonight and it was inspiring. I've got way too many ideas.

Sadee is thriving. That's what the doctor actually said and she really is. She is so alert and fun to play with. She also has a short little temper, but she settles down pretty quickly as well. It's going to be VERY quiet around here when they go home. I think I will have empty nest all over again. I'm sure glad they are going to be so close. They might end up even closer as they are looking at property only about 15 minutes from here. Wouldn't that be sweet. Anyway, whereever they settle, it won't be far from us.

Ok, I'm getting off. I'll try to go take a picture of the walk and post it as well. So comment away.
