So It's Been a While
And likely to be a while again after this post. Things around here have REALLY gone into high gear. I just thought I was rushed before. The sheetrock is up, taped and bedded, and the texture guys are coming tomorrow, so I will be there bright and early making sure they understand the plan. Wish me luck.
I've been to the countertop place just in time to put a hold on the granite for the kitchen. Liking that. The cabinet guys will start installing next week and the trim guys will also start next week. I have been running all over the DFW area trying to decide on wallpaper for my ceilings - anybody want to help hang that? It's only about 600 sf. I'm going to need an appointment with the chiropractor as soon as it's over and have my friend Sheretta give me a massage. Maybe I will get lots of help - hope so.
Next I have to pick the sinks, faucets and light fixtures. I'm trying real hard to stay ahead of these guys, but it's hard cause I'm too picky. I've looked at too many books and watched too many shows...hard for me to settle for just ok...which makes it hard cause I have a budget to stay in...that's why it's hard. You women know what I mean. But I'm determined, and so far I have managed to find some pretty good bargains. Hope I can make it to the end.
In between all the building stuff I am still trying to find the sofas I want, which got discontinued before I could order them last year. It would be easier if I had never seen them. But I'm sure I will figure something out...just running out of time. I hate to think all my company will have to sit yoga style on the area rug. SOME of my frinds wouldn't be able to get up, but I'm not mentioning names. and I'm not volunteering to get down there either.
BTW, speaking of friends, we've had a visit from the infamous Mr Tater along with Mrs and Mags. They brought the now famous Taterdam - I'm hoping to post a picture. Sharon and I made a fun day of shopping all over while the guys messed around GR and worked on the Dam. It was a blast. Can't wait for another - longer visit, but it was great to have them here. I also got to make a short, but very sweet visit to Andrews last week. Had some business to tend to and got to play with my friends for 2 nights. We had so much fun. I guess I'm going to have to find a way to do that about once every 2 or 3 months to stay satisfied. Moe went with me and that was fun too. She visited her dear Mist and Sadee's boyfriend. Not much playing going on here yet. Of course I'm the stick in the mud cause I'm always busy. That will change pretty soon. One can hope.
We also had a fun time after during and after Christmas (except for my little diseased spell). We got to see Zach, and after Christmas Marissa, Adam and his folks came for the day. We had a great visit again. Looking forward to many more of those.
We are going this weekend to be with Larry's family at PaPa Dee's for our annual birthday bash and Chinese Christmas. The hits just keep on coming (in a good way). We are all looking forward to that. What I'm really looking forward to is the fact we can be there in 90 minutes instead of 4 or 5 hours. Yippee.
Ok, that's about all the fun I can stand for one night. Maybe I'll talk again before the house is done - we will see.
