Off we go!

Interesting day and this will be short & probably nothing until I get back. Rain slowed everything down or stopped it yesterday. Lar is already on the road with the trailer loaded down - hope he can get in to unload before the weekend is over. We might spend a lot of time in the hot tub and our favorite hotel.

I had a computer problem today and kind of figured it out myself along with help from one of my brilliant nephews, Richard. My memory was the biggest problem. Couldn't remember my aim password for several hours - but then did. So there you go.

Anyway, all you DFW friends and relatives, maybe we will see you sometime in the next 7 or 8 days. Hasta

Load, Load, Load

This sounds like first grade: Look, look, look. See Dick run. See Mother collapse - now wait, that was 10th grade. Whatever.

Wasn't a bad day, really. Called a million people and had only half million call me...course 3 of them were right in the middle of my break (at the movies) with my friends who wisked me away today. That was fun even if I did miss the very end because of a pressing call. Oh well, one day I will leave them in the car and not worry about it like my smart friends do.

Speaking of phones, now I only carry 3. My Andrews phone, which my few clients still use to reach me, my JD business phone which all the case managers use to call me everyday to solve problems, etc., and now I have a Glen Rose phone because our other phones don't work worth a bleep down there. There has to be a name for that: Hungonphonia or something.

We saw "The Notebook". Let me rephrase that: my FRIENDS saw it. No, actually I saw everything but the very end - but I had most of it figured out way before that anyway, I just missed the sad part. But I don't really think it was sad when you think about the overall picture....I think it was a very strong love story. That is all I will say so I don't ruin it for any of you.

And we did get all the cabinets I bought loaded for the trip. I just have to finish laundry & pack tomorrow. That is a pretty easy load for me. Of course I should not have said that. All double bleep will probably break out instead. Oh well, I'm excited about going again. Every trip makes it harder to come back - but it is bittersweet. We have some of the best friends anyone could ever have here and I will miss them. But they WILL come see us often! I'm making a very inviting guest wing for them all so they will really enjoy themselves when they do come...and they can fish in my neighbors pond and all kinds of fun things we will do.

I'm looking forward to a new adventure and making new friends and getting to know my neighbors better. Lar is VERY excited - full of energy like a kid. It's a good thing, cause while I too am excited, I don't have the energy level he does. I will catch up later, tho.

Speaking of energy, better try sleeping - that might help, huh. Night all.

Shopping, shopping, shopping!

Long day of it - got cabinets for the apartment and a NEW Vaccuum Cleaner!! Pretty good one, too. I'm happy about that. It's the small things in my life..ha ha. The Sawyer "away" house in Midland is looking mighty fine, even if it has taken a year. Maybe with my building project underway, we can have a race! Course it's not entirely fair since they are doing most of the work themselves, but hey - no one said that was a part of the game.

So tomorrow a lot will happen - electrical in the barn will be completed, and the power company will finish putting in the permanent electricity Friday. Yeah air conditioning (even tho it has been unseasonably cool - God is smiling on us). The plumber will tie in the water from the well to the barn and rough plumb the house. The drywall people will start in the barn apartment. LOTS of progress.

The only hold up right now is the guy in charge of the sh*(&*(t (that's greek for septic system). He is not moving very fast. I don't know if we can just live there and hold it until we go to town or what. I guess I can eat lots of cheese and not drink any water. There's always a catch in the construction business. I like Clint, the one who will supervise our project. He's a really nice guy. He will need to be cool to put up with my constant phone calls and questions, advice, and ideas - but I think he is up for the task. I think this will be mostly fun.

On an entirely different subject, our broker wants Lar & I to be interviewed on film. They are going to use it in some kind of company wide training thing. Weird. I said maybe they should wait about five years to see how happy we are with their advice! Anyway, guess we will be semi-famous in the Edward D. Jones industry. Please, no autographs.

So this is it for my first full blog day. A lot, huh?

Ok, I can take a hint

I guess my lengthy messages finally caught up with me. That, and the fact we are embarking on this great house building adventure, so I will probably need a harmless place to vent or express myself. We will see.

Anyway, here I am world.
